Children & A Few Minutes of Lock

Louise Lecavalier/ Nigel Charnock/ Edouard Lock - Children & A Few Minutes of Lock

Louise Lecavalier’s work with the iconoclastic Québécois dance group La La La Human Stepsthroughout the 1980s and 90s made her one of the most recognised and exciting dance performers in the world.
This double bill of duets includes Children, conceived by choreographer Nigel Charnock, the unrepentant enfant terrible of British physical theatre, a playful take on the heaven and hell of a couple where the fireworks are non-stop.
Then, in A Few Minutes of Lock, Lecavalier plunges back into her former accomplice Édouard Lock’s extreme, incandescent style of dance that she so indelibly personified.  Eleven years after she left La La La, she is spurred by the challenge of its physicality and by the desire to find out “what the body remembers”. Set to the music of Iggy Pop, the work features three updated duets – excerpts from and Salt – that distil the sheer adventure, intimacy and passion of these pieces.
Please note that this programme replaces the previously advertised production Is You Me by Benoît Lachambre and Louise Lecavalier, which we are now unable to present. Tickets for Is You Me will be valid for this performance, or customers may contact the Box Office for a refund.
