FLAT SURFACE, STATIC AND FORM

Above is the map and the construction of  it tend to reflect the level of usage.
Firstly,more than merely recignizing an object,or gaining an impression of it,it brings realization of the object's characteristic  purpose that its extension into space and human psychology. Its  characteristic  purpose  is not for the vehicles, but  pedestrians. Secondly, It contains  huge amounts of information.Visual  experience is  limited to take a comprenhensive view of whole map,because of linear sequence of our seeing.They are all there at once but viewer cannot read about them at once. So,the map transforms serial visual sensations  into  instantaneous visual experiences.Thirdly,the hidden grid and organization system construct the whole layout in order-linear connection of horizontal and vertical lines make diversions of surface.


Pavement  has  warning sign telling pedestrians to “Look right”. The warning sign demonstrate a potential hazard efficiently . Firstly, the sign show strong visual expressions  that pedestrians should beware .It has potential hazard and is  unsafe .The bold type heighten viewes' vigilances and  perception of hazard and  stir unsettled and intense  feelings in human mind.Secondly,The  sign has  precautional imparts in the vicinity of urban enviroment and  affects  people consciousness and  behavior psychologically.Thirdly,the sign can be seen  from one particular viewing position and be conditioned by some angle .Being different  from large vehicle sign  ,viewers look the sign from different point of view.It is capable of heightening  security awareness  of crossing the road. 




SPACE AND DIMENSION 

I want to extend the sign to involve not only  flat surface ,but also physical  one  in the space .

Above is Neon cycling jacket. High-visibility clothing is worn to heighten the personal protection. The cycalist is like  moving layout of spatial environment. And a series of  sensations are experienced by the blinking eyes depending upon movement through time in the  spatial field.

In  previous context,observer will  move to and fro in space spontaneously and intuitively according to the sign's guidance . And most of signs are fixed and conditioned by flat surface . So,it got me thinking-what about the graphic stimuli is moving through space ;what about it has depth and distance;what about it involves in the three-dimensional environment instead of just 2D image ?What impact does  it  have on us?
